Saïda - Harp

Saïda was born in London into a musical environment and started her training at an early age playing piano, recorder and flute. It was after her first visit to an orchestral concert, when she saw and heard the harp, that she decided to specialise in the instrument.

Saida moved to Glasgow and studied at the RSAMD Junior department with Sanchia Pielou. She progressed to the senior Academy followed by the Royal Academy of Music in London.

After completing her studies, Saïda moved back to Glasgow and freelanced for several years. She played with all the major Scottish orchestras and also in various hotels in Scotland and abroad.

Since 1988 Saïda has been Principal Harpist of the Orchestra of Scottish Opera.
