Andrea - Flute

Andrea was born and grew up in Liverpool. She studied flute and piccolo at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

Since moving to Glasgow in 1986, Andrea has had a successful freelance career performing and recording with all of the major Scottish Orchestras - The Royal Scottish National Orchestra, The Orchestra of Scottish Opera, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Scottish Ballet Orchestra. She plays principal Flute with the Scottish Concert Orchestra, which covers the popular repertoire.

She recently spent a week in Singapore playing with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Andrea has performed with Tommy Smith’s Scottish National Jazz Orchestra and has also worked extensively with Belle and Sebastian, with whom she has toured Europe, the USA, Canada, Brazil and Japan.

Andrea is a part time lecturer at Napier University in Edinburgh and also teaches private students.
